Converging Cultures
On July 4, 2006, participants in the Folklife Festival gathered in the hotel ballroom for a night of entertainment courtesy of musicians from Alberta and Latino Chicago. Corb Lund and the Hurtin' Albertans performed the quintessential Alberta anthem, "The Good Ol' Hockey Game" (view video below) while songs highlighting the musical fusion born of Latin American pockets in Chicago filled the dance floor.
